Samsung Galaxy Indulge joins the 4G LTE family

by Edwin - on February 10, 2011

Samsung intends to expand their Galaxy (range of phones, that is) with the latest addition, the Samsung Galaxy Indulge. It is rather interesting to note that this latest release will not arrive on any of the big four carriers, but rather, will be made available to MetroPCS, one of the smaller players over in the US. Still, that doesn’t detract from the fact that the Galaxy Indulge is one of the world’s first commercially available 4G LTE enabled Android smartphone.

MetroPCS’ main selling point that will accompany the Galaxy Indulge is this – it costs around half that of other 4G smartphone where service plans are concerned, as consumers are able to “have it all”, so to speak, with MetroPCS’ $50 and $60 4G LTE smartphone service plans, where it will comprise of all applicable taxes and regulatory fees.

Wenger Giant Swiss Army Knife – Everything but the Kitchen Sink

by twinks on 19/11/10 at 6:00 am

How many tools does a man need on a lifetime? One. The new Wenger Swiss Army Knife is the knife that every knife wants be and so much more, in fact about 86 more. This all utility gadget is one of the marvels of Swiss engineering, not quite the Large Hadron Collider but close enough, as it boasts 87 fully functional tools that can be used in more than a hundred jobs. If boy scouts and super soldiers can survive in the dessert with nothing more than a toothbrush, imagine what they could do with this mechanical prodigy. Forget trying to sneak this to the airport though, it’s not exactly pocket-sized; at 9 inches width, this device is far from conspicuous but it does come in a neat stylish gift box.

LG E2290V Monitor – A Slimmer 2011

by twinks on Jan 24, 2011

One of the top and toughest New Year’s resolutions is sliming and shaping up for 2011 and LG and its new E2290V Monitor have a good head start. During the last 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, LG unveiled an ultra-slim 22-inch High Definition ready 1080p LED backlit LCD display. The E2290V is the latest addition to the E90 series and it features a 7 mm slim design made possible with a single high performance chip. This chip takes on the job of two chips therefore significantly reducing the depth of the monitor.

To add to the already stylish ultra-thin design, it also comes with a beautiful and practical titanium silver stand. The connectors are now located on the base as opposed to the being on the back of the screen, this makes connecting and organizing cables a breeze. Furthermore, EZ cabling allows users to tidily hide away cables running to the monitor, maintaining the sleek and clean appearance.

Unlike regular LCD screen, the new E2290V Monitor features a LED back-lit display that further contributes to its reduced size and weight, and ultra-realistic pictures. It also features 10,000,000:1 Mega Contrast Ratio technology that elevates sharpness and contrast of brightness and darkness to unbelievable levels. Movies and other digital contents are also kept in the original proportion; this preserves their optimal ratios and size without any distortions. Function key descriptions are shown on the screen and navigated by conveniently placed touch buttons. For the environment conscious, the E2290V is made with earth-friendly and Mercury and Halogen-free materials and it consumes 35% less energy than normal LCD monitors.
